Random Stories: Dancing Cactus

DDNikki / Random Stories / Dancing Cactus

Basically: Nikki gets fixtated on a cactus because they want to customize it like a Furby.
(I think I AM hyperfixtating on Furbies in general. If that's all you care about, click here.)

On the eleventh of July I got a dancing cactus in the mail.
Y'know, that one that gained controversy due to playing that one Polish song about cocaine.
Mine doesn't have that, but it has a recording function, which basically means CUSTOM SONGS.
(Somewhat unrelated, I made mine play Mopemope.)
So... I decided to peel one, because why not?

When you remove the plush outer layer, you see a speaker and two buttons,
at least with what I got. (Mine also had lights, but I stuffed it into the casing.)
The left button is for recording, the right one is for its prebuilt songs.

Holding the left button will start recording when you hear a beep.
Let go to stop recording, which is sounded by two beeps.
If you don't let go, it'll automatically stop recording on its own after about five seconds.
Press the left button again for playback.

The right button has not much to say about it.
Plays songs once. Cycles through songs every time you press it.

On the bottom is a on/off switch, and mine is rechargeable, so there's a USB port.
The manual says to "use for one hour, charge for three hours".
When you plug it in it has a red indicator light.
It keeps your recordings even if you turn it off.

The Part about a Furby

This was the final result.
Literally just a Mopemope flower.
Made of a mix of hard and soft felt sheets.
Its eyes are spray-painted black because I didn't have any black beads.
When I was at the therapist some kid almost stole it from me.

A few days after this, I customized a Furby Boom.
Cassandra Furby. Might take to a Newgrounds meetup,
if I'm either old enough or I find a loophole. I have to keep it working somehow too.
It all started when I said that her alien form looked like a black cat Furby.
Genuinely. Cassandra is the only reason I'm scared of Furbies.
The Furby AND the character. They're both named Cassandra, both of them.

If you're curious about my experience with these things,
the weird shit doesn't happen if you genuinely love them.
(Must explain why Cassandra's kinda screwed up...)
